Could the Feud Between McAfee & Chainlink Memesters Escalate?
Probably the best known blockchain oracle in the world of cryptocurrencies, Chainlink (link) also has quite an enthusiastic following. On many corners of the internet including Twitter, Reddit and online imageboards you can see many memes related to the project. Many Chainlink fans spread their memes to raise awareness for the cryptocurrency.
It appears that not everyone is a fan, however.
McAfee vs Chainlink?
Earlier today John McAfee, founder of McAfee Antivirus, U.S. Presidential candidate and well-known cryptocurrency fan posted a tweet. In that tweet he vented some anger regarding Chainlink fans posting link-related memes on his account.
In the tweet he claimed that he was being spammed by accounts promoting Chainlink. He claimed that if these posts do not stop, he will begin posting negative tweets regarding Chainlink. McAfee also tagged Chainlink's official Twitter account in the tweet.
My account is being spammed by folks with zero followers promoting Chainlink.â John McAfee (@officialmcafee) April 1, 2020
If this does not stop I will start tweeting about what a piece of sh*t Chainlink is.
Are we clear people?
Be careful who you f*ck with.@chainlink
McAfee later posted a similar Tweet on Chainlink's Tweet regarding their collaboration with Fantom. In it he said that he would tweet negatively on Chainlink every hour should the posts not stop.
It seems doubtful that the community will stop at this time and they are likely enjoying the "trolling". Seeing McAfee's response as well seems to indicate that this might escalate.
Only one thing can be certain at this moment, and that this feud is one to keep an eye out for.
